Observation Narrative
The canopy is dominated by Chamaecyparis, with a sub-canopy of Ilex cass., smilax, Gordonia (some Chamaecyparis seedlings and juvenilles). The understory is a mix of Ilex cassine, Cyrilla, Gaylyu., Smilax, Persea, and Lyonia (with traces of Woodwardia in the herb layer). There are several hummucs and pools - Blowdowns. Lyonia reaches the sub-canopy and Ilex cassine nearly reaches the canopy in spots.
